Winter Park – Sevilla

Bank owned homes can present unique opportunities for families to get into an established area and have sufficient equity left in the home to completely renovate the home to their exact specifications and move into their “new” home with equity from day one.  This was one such project.  The home had severe termite damage in the front foyer area, with the roof sagging up to three inches in some areas due to improper installation of Florida field stone work.  The interior finishes were original to the home when it was constructed in the 70’s and had never been updated.

NuDesign met with the clients before the finalized the purchase of the home, laid out a new plan for the space and got all the budget numbers together for the clients to make an informed decision.  The home was completely gutted down to the studs, walls were removed, rearranged and reconstructed.  The termite damage was repaired and rebuilt and the structural integrity of the home upgraded throughout.  The home was re-wired, re-plumbed, new windows installed, new HVAC systems, propane added to the home and additional air conditioned square footage added under the existing roof.  We added a front porch across the front of the home and mixed galvanized metal roofing with more traditional asphalt shingle for a clean, yet unique look.  Every surface in the home got touched, updated and redone.

The family loves their new home and is looking forward to many years of raising their children in their new home.  Special thanks goes out to Kim Deddens of Kim Deddens Interiors in Winter Park for all her hard work on this project.  She was the inspiration for so many ideas in the home that initially sounded off base, but time after time proved to be spot on.
